Once again, Mario’s brother finds himself exploring a spooky hotel filled with Boos and terrors waiting around every corner. While not as creepy as the GameCube classic, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is creative, charming, and gorge
RE3 was originally designed as a spin-off , side-story, so it was never meant to be that big of a game. And despite Code Veronica not being a numbered title, it was given much more detail than RE3 . And as previously stated, Code Veronica appears more like a sequel to RE2 than the most recent remake. Simply put, RE fans deserve a bigger survival horror title to stink their teeth into and a Code Veronica remake would be the right cho
While Little Nightmares might be significantly scarier than the average Studio Ghibli experience, there’s no denying the comparisons that can be made regardless. This is especially true when one looks at the artwork of Spirited Away, one of the most well-known Studio Ghibli mov
Facebook clearly sees the potential for VR versions of classic games, having announced GTA: San Andreas at last week’s Facebook Connect 2021. We should expect to see more PS2-era games on the Quest 2 (or Meta 2, I guess), hopefully a lot more. Games like Shadow of the Colossus , Metal Gear Solid 3, Silent Hill 2, and Beyond Good & Evil are ripe for VR versions, and I’d love to see even older games like GoldenEye and Perfect Dark remade for the Quest too. A robust library of classic games is exactly what VR needs to attract a wider audience, and Resident Evil 4 was absolutely the best place to st
I can’t play the Spyro trilogy for the first time again, nor can I approach it with the same innocence and sense of wonder that I did when I was ten years old. I still love the series, but games have changed a lot since Spyro first came out. There have been 20 years of evolution and innovation since Spyro the Dragon was made, and I’ve seen how games have been refined and enhanced since then. I’ve changed a lot too. I’m a critic now, and I pick games apart and analyze them for a living. I can revisit Spyro from a new perspective, but now I experience it as an echo of the original – a snapshot of my childh
Garnering universal praise when it debuted, Super Mario Maker 2 faded into the backdrop oddly quickly. Perhaps the game just did not feel different enough from the first entry to have staying power, at least in terms of attracting mainstream attent
RE: Code Veronica follows up on Claire Redfield’s search for her brother, something that is first referenced in Resident Evil 2 . Immediately, the game shows us that Claire’s mission to find her brother led her to an Umbrella facility in Paris. The character storylines Tears Of The Kingdom DLC both games are inherently linked, something absent in comparison to R
As Nintendo stuck very close to the original game’s blueprint, this is, ultimately, still the same Super Mario RPG that has been around for decades. It looks better and comes with a few quality-of-life adjustments, but the campaign does not have much in the way of new content. Consequently, players who have completed the original version and do not feel like revisiting it might want to hold off on picking up the remake. However, this also means that Super Mario RPG has all the same positives as its ancestor, including frequently hilarious dialogue and a world that is fun to explore. While generally the same, the combat is also improved thanks to the addition of a new special combo me
If anything, its sequel is likely the primary candidate to accomplish such a feat, with the recent reveal trailer unveiling an experience that isn’t afraid to be vastly different, while also remaining true to the masterful foundations it was built upon. While the Divine Beasts were grandiose monoliths and the various civilizations of Hyrule were saturated in fascinating glimpses of a wider culture, much of the real beauty was found in Link hims
Updated February 18, 2024 by Mark Sammut: 2024 is underway, and Nintendo has just released its first major exclusive of the year. While Mario vs. Donkey Kong will probably not go down as one of the biggest games of 2024, it is still a solid first-party release that can keep someone engaged until the arrival of Princess Peach: Showti
Technically, Luigi’s Mansion 3 was not a first-party game when it came out since it was developed by Next Level Games. However, as the studio has been working exclusively with Nintendo for years and, in 2021, was purchased by the latter, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is essentially a first-party ti
I’ve played close to 100 VR games, and I’ve never had an experience like Resident Evil 4. There are better-looking, more immersive, and higher quality games out there, but none have ever given me as much joy and nostalgia as playing Resident Evil in VR has. As soon as the opening cutscene ended and I took control of Leon, I was instantly transported. I know every inch of RE4’s village, castle, and underground mines, but I never felt like I’d been to these places until now. RE4VR feels like the difference between looking at a picture of the Parthenon versus traveling to Greece and standing in the center of it. Seeing RE4 on a screen is incomparable to seeing it in person, and experiences like this have the potential to sell VR to even the most reluctant play
